Tourism Board Program
The Hong Kong Tourism Board offers complimentary guided bus tours for eligible transit passengers — a genuine gem for long layovers.
For transit passengers with 6–24 hours between flights. No booking fee. Just your boarding pass and a valid onward ticket.
You need a confirmed onward flight and must be a transit passenger — not entering HK on your final ticket.
Head to the HKTB Welcome Desk in Arrivals (T1, Level 5). Bring passport, boarding pass, and onward ticket.
Routes cover Tsim Sha Tsui, Victoria Harbour, and Kowloon highlights. Tours run multiple times daily.
Allow at least 2.5–3 hours before departure. Tours are timed, but always pad for customs re-entry.

Many nationalities get visa-free entry to HK for 14–90 days. Check before booking a free transit tour — you'll need to clear immigration.
Hong Kong Dollar (HKD). Pegged ~7.78 to 1 USD. ATMs in Arrivals; good forex rates at airport banks.
"HKAirport Free WiFi" throughout both terminals. Stable and fast — no registration needed for basic access.
